Incident at the Santana de Araguaia Plant
JBS communicates to its shareholders and to the market in general that a fire broke out in its beef production plant in Santana de Araguaia in the
State of Para, Brazil today. The area was evacuated and there were no victims or injuries.
The fire broke out about 11.00 AM local time and was eventually controlled about 4 hours later with the help of the Company's internal accident
prevention brigade and with the support of the local authorities that provided logistic support and water trucks. Local management set up a
support unit in order to provide information and support for the approximately 600 people who work at the plant and their families.
The plant has full insurance coverage against fire and related losses. Production scheduled at this plant in Santana de Araguaia has been
redirected to the Company's other production units in the State without jeopardy to suppliers or customers.
