JBS has processing platforms located in the main animal protein producing countries, which provides the Company with geographic diversification, operational flexibility and mitigation of the risks associated with possible sanitary restrictions or trade barriers. To serve its broad range of clients, JBS has an extensive national and international sales and distribution network, as well as Distribution Centers and Sales Offices in the major consumer regions throughout the world.

The Company’s exports cover a diverse geographic range and reach more than 150 countries, which allow JBS to reduce its exposure to individual markets, while having access to all consumer markets.

Production

Focused in growth and in the geographic expansion of its activities, JBS has more than 400 production units, 230 of them strictly related to production of meat and convenience and value-added products.

JBS is positioned as the largest animal protein company in the world, representing:

  • Global leader in beef processing and exports, with operations in Brazil, Australia, Canada and the United States, and capacity to process 80 thousand bovines/day;
  • Global leader in leather processing, with operations in Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Germany, China, the United States, Mexico, Uruguay and Vietnam, and capacity to produce more than 100 thousand leather pieces/day;
  • Global leader in poultry production, with operations in the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil and the UK, and capacity to process 14 million birds/day;
  • Second largest pork producer in the USA and one of the largest producers in Brazil, with capacity to process more than 115 thousand hogs/day;
  • Global leader in lamb processing and exports. The operations in Australia have the capacity to process 24 thousand lamb/day;
  • Significant production of meat-based processed products and value-added products, with capacity for 210 thousand tons/month.

The acquisition of all units was guided by the strategy to operate in regions with the highest livestock concentration focusing in the flexibility of operational production, reducing the transportation costs of livestock and finished products and reduced plant phytosanitary risks.

The strategic location of JBS’ plants is one of the factors that put the company in the market lead, with a low cost production structure and operational efficiency.
